1. Rustige stranden – als je weet waar je moet zijn
Niet elk strand op Bali is ideaal met kleine kinderen. Sommige stranden hebben flinke golven en sterke stroming (perfect voor surfers, maar niet voor kleintjes). Gelukkig zijn er ook genoeg plekken waar het water kalm is en je met een baby of peuter wél relaxed kunt genieten.

Waar wij op letten als we met de kids naar het strand gaan:
- Rustige zee en geleidelijk aflopend water (zoals bij Sanur, Nusa Dua of Jimbaran)
- Fijn zand om in te spelen
- Eten en wc’s op loopafstand
Onze kinderen vinden het heerlijk om in het ondiepe water te spelen waar bijna geen golven zijn — en wij vinden het fijn dat we niet steeds op hoeven te letten of er weer een (extra) grote golf aankomt.

💛 Crew Moment: Onze kids waren helemaal weg van Padang Padang. Het is een bekende surfspot, maar er is ook een rustig gedeelte waar peuters lekker kunnen spetteren en zandkastelen bouwen. En de aapjes bij de ingang? Ook heel interessant!

5. Lieve mensen, kleurrijke cultuur: Bali met kids
Wat we heel erg waardeerden tijdens onze reizen door Bali met de kinderen, is dat de mensen heel erg kindvriendelijk zijn!
De Balinese samenleving is heel erg gericht op familie. Overal waar we kwamen werden onze kinderen begroet met een glimlach. Mensen zwaaien, maken een praatje of willen even contact — zeker in de iets minder toeristische gebieden.
In restaurants of homestays is het ook heel normaal dat personeel je even helpt of interesse toont in je kind. Dat maakt eten of even ergens binnenkomen gewoon net een stukje relaxter.
En dan heb je nog de kleurrijke ceremonieën, bloemenoffers en traditionele muziek — zelfs een klein wandelingetje door het dorp voelt al snel als een hele culturele ervaring.

💛 Crew Moment: Wij voelden ons overal welkom met de kinderen — zelfs in tempels of kleine warungs. Wel goed om even te checken wat gepast is qua kleding (sarong of sjaal mee als je een spirituele plek bezoekt!)

Van de relaxte sfeer en aardige locals tot kindvriendelijke stranden en leuke uitstapjes — Bali is echt zo’n bestemming waar je als gezin makkelijk je draai vindt. Of je nu reist met een baby, peuter of iets oudere kinderen: dit eiland is precies de juiste mix van ontspanning en avontuur.

Zeker! Als je een beetje voorbereid op pad gaat, is Bali verrassend kindvriendelijk. Veel accommodaties hebben babybedjes, je vindt rustige stranden, privéchauffeurs en genoeg cafés waar kinderen meer dan welkom zijn.

Het droogseizoen (van april t/m oktober) is ideaal: zonnig, warm en perfect voor stranddagen en uitstapjes. Juli en augustus zijn wel wat drukker — dus als je liever wat meer rust hebt, kies dan net vóór of erna.
