We’ve traveled to Bali in both quieter months and during peak season, and with our kids our most recent trips were in July and August. While these months are definitely busier and more expensive, we still found them very manageable for family travel.

We’ve also experienced Bali during the rainy months, and while it can still be a lovely family destination, it does feel very different. Expect more cloud cover, regular rain showers and occasionally some minor flooding after heavier storms.
Another thing to keep in mind is that west coast beaches tend to collect more ocean debris during the wet season, which can make swimming and beach days less enjoyable. In all honesty, if our only travel window was between December and March, we would personally be more likely to choose another destination, such as Thailand with Kids, especially because we love spending a lot of time at the beach.
